Residential Support Workers (RSWs) are the cornerstone of our organization, providing compassionate care and support to individuals diagnosed with IDD.
As a Residential Service Worker, you will foster independence, promoting community engagement, and ensuring the well-being of those we serve. As the foundation of our team, RSWs embody our commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Residential Support Worker (RSW) with Lifestyle Support Services, Inc. (LSS), your role is crucial in providing compassionate care and support to individuals diagnosed with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Your average day will include:
1. Personal Care Assistance: Assisting individuals with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
2. Medication Management: Administering medications according to prescribed schedules and documenting accurately.
3. Community Integration: Facilitating community outings and activities to promote socialization and independence.
4. Behavioral Support: Implementing behavior plans and strategies to manage challenging behaviors effectively.
5. Life Skills Training: Providing guidance and support in developing essential life skills such as meal preparation, household chores, and money management.
6. Emotional Support: Offering emotional support and encouragement to individuals in times of need or distress.
7. Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining detailed records of daily activities, progress notes, and incident reports as required.
8. Collaboration: Communicating effectively with team members, families, and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated care and support.
9. Safety and Well-being: Ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals by following established protocols and procedures.
10. Professional Development: Participating in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of IDD support services.
